A gated mews comprised of a 100 year old detached coach house and two new semi detached three bedroom new build homes.
- 1 of 6
A gated mews in south-west London developed in collaboration with award-winning architectural practice MW Architects.
The existing Victorian coach house was sensitively restored and extended and we built an additional two semi-detached three-bedroom homes on the site. In all three properties, the design was informed by a raw, craft-led approach, characterised by an organic palette, the use of natural materials and an imperfect, wabi-sabi style finish.
The new-build homes have been arranged to maximise natural light and the exteriors are defined by the use of zinc cladding and herringbone brickwork. As with the coach house, they feature cork flooring, Bauwerk lime-washed walls, Smith and Goat concrete sinks and bespoke joinery. Each property has a sedum green roof and gardens designed by landscape designers GRDN, and there is a shared central courtyard area that provides off-street parking.
Bristow Mews is located between Brixton Hill, Tulse Hill and Streatham Hill, close to independent cafes, restaurants and shops, and a short walk from Brockwell Park and Brixton.
The project was completed in Autumn 2022 and the three properties are currently for sale through The Modern House.
